Your data
The short version
You can play without an account, and then nothing about you is stored on our server. If you sign in to get on the leaderboard, we keep a random ID, the board name you pick and your Hold-the-room records. No email address, no real name, no ads, no trackers. You can delete it all yourself at any time.
If you sign in (Google or Discord)
- What we get: only the account ID that Google or Discord gives us. We ask for nothing else, so we never see your email, name or picture.
- What we store: a scrambled (hashed) version of that ID, the board name you choose, your best hold per room and difficulty, and your total time held.
- Why: to show the leaderboard. It's the only use.
- Who sees it: your board name, times and how you played (solo, with AI, with a friend) are public on the leaderboard. Nothing else is shown or shared.
- How long: until you delete your account.
- Cookie: one sign-in cookie (
po_s) keeps you signed in. It's needed for sign-in to work, so there's no cookie banner.
Delete everything
In the game menu, open the leaderboard, tap your name and choose Delete account. Your name, records and total time are removed from the server straight away.
Everyone, signed in or not
- On your device: your settings and personal bests are saved in your browser (local storage). They never leave your device unless you sign in and post a run.
- Anonymous game stats: when a run ends, the server adds it to counters (how long, which room, which difficulty) to show "you held longer than X% of runs". It also counts daily visits and the country of a request. No IP address, ID or anything that could point to you is kept.
- Playing with a friend: game messages pass through our server to your friend and are not stored.
Where it lives
The game runs on Cloudflare, which stores the data above for us. Sign-in goes through Google or Discord under their own privacy policies.
Your rights + contact
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or complain to your data protection authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet). Questions: pixelsoffscreen@gmail.com.
